De 1963½ Sports Hardtop was precies wat Ford nodig had om te domineren op de Amerikaanse ovals en dragstrips. De nieuwe, lagere fastback-daklijn gaf de grote Ford niet alleen een sportiever profiel, maar bood ook een cruciaal aerodynamisch voordeel op hoge snelheid. Het resultaat? Dit exemplaar is uitgevoerd in de sprekende kleur Tucson Yellow met een zwart interieur. Volgens de bekende historie werd de auto nieuw geleverd door Vel’s Parnelli Jones Ford in Torrance, Californië – een naam die bij elke liefhebber direct tot de verbeelding spreekt. De auto verbleef decennia in Los Angeles County voordat een serieuze verzamelaar de auto naar Nederland haalde.
